Alex, I''m relocating from just outside Portland to Spokane later this week. As I explore the new surroundings, I may come up with some routes for the site.

Has anyone done (or heard of anyone doing) an all or mostly off-road trip from Portland to the Pacific?

Of course Lewis & Clark and countless other settler''s traveled from Portland to the Coast, but I can''t find record of anyone doing by bike.

If so, what route did you take? There seem to be enough logging and Forest Service roads to facilitate such an adventure, but finding your way through is definitely not going to be easy.

At any rate, I''m going to ride from Portland to the Coast--off road--this summer.

If you would like see what the local groups of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship get up to in the UK its worth checking out the South Lakes Group Website at www.southlakesgroup.org.uk and the clicking on the photo galleries to see photos of rides over past years.

Excellent! Very much looking forward to reading this new blog. I am just putting my toes in the water of this kind of bicycle riding, moving over from "adventure motorcycling," and I have lots to learn. Thank you!
